I really just want to say thank you. You have such an amazing connection with your fans. It's mind boggling. To me, at least, you ARE a celebrity simply because I admire you and have yet to really meet you, and that, in my opinion, defines the term celebrity. I've never really liked 'the classics' because I thought I couldn't relate, but the LBD series has changed my opinion on that. I'd also like to note that your face is staring up at me from my copy of Great Expectations. So yeah... thanks.

See, now, this makes me cry. I certainly don’t identify as a celebrity, but if a few people know who I am, and are inspired by me or what I do in any way, what could be more rewarding? And if you’re inspired to read, and read classics no less, then you’ve really warmed my heart. One of my favorite responses to The LBD is hearing that it makes people want to read Pride and Prejudice. I’ve been an avid reader my whole life. I used to get in trouble in school for reading books surreptitiously held under my desk when I’d already finished the assigned work, and at some point teachers were worried about my social skills because I kept reading at recess. I tried to explain that I had friends and spent recess with them sometimes, but the book was really good and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Reading has been such a gift in my life, and is a huge part of why I was so drawn to be a part of telling stories that touch people. It sparks the imagination in a way that makes us think, grow and change and what could be more powerful than that? So thank you, gentle reader, for inspiring me today.
